The Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms Department is comprised of two divisions: the Protective Services Division and the Member Services Division.

The Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms Department is a highly specialized agency consisting of Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) sworn law enforcement personnel (Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms) and non-sworn personnel (Member Services) dedicated to serving the legislative community.


Protective Services Division - Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms (Peace Officer)

The Protective Services Division of the Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms Department is a highly specialized POST law enforcement agency dedicated to the legislative community. Our sworn peace officers support the protection needs of the California legislature across the state.

Member Services Division (Non-Sworn/Dispatch)

If you aspire to provide exceptional service, and working in a highly visible and dynamic environment the Member Services Division may be the place for you.

The Member Services Division is dedicated to serving the legislative community. Those with prior experience working in the State Capitol Complex or the service industry, and those who have a strong desire to work supporting the legislative process are encouraged to apply.
